Tuesday April 12th

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has said that he is “not ready to give away” any part of Ukraine, in return for peace in the country. Speaking to CBS’ Scott Pelley, Zelensky went on to say that he would never recognise Crimea as Russian territory, despite the peninsula being annexed by Russia in 2014.

What does this mean? Is it a statement of determination, or setting the base line for negotiation? These politicians are slippery customers! We had better pray into it, and see what develops. Eventually, talking will have to take place, as it does in all these situations. It usually happens when both sides are tired of killing. Sad- but true. Are we approaching that point. Are the Russians growing tired of killing and being killed? Is their economic collapse at hand?

Father of all creation, we pray that you visit the hearts of these two leaders with love, and stir it back into the negotiation table. O, grant them the joy of your love that conquers all evil, and let peace prevail.
