The ‘highs’ and the ‘lows’!

Monday November 20th 2023

It’s tough working in the mission field. Friday was a typical example. We drove down to see one of our intercessors over our very broken roads. On the way back, we found the entire 3 lanes of traffic going into Accra was driving in our lanes while we were trying to get out of Accra. The chaos was and remains beyond description. We just got hotter and hotter as Kwasi, our driver tried to find a way out of the chaos.

Once back home, a huge storm broke, flooding our base and some of our accommodation. As we rushed  around shutting doors and windows, the power failed, and stayed failed for a long time. Fortunately, we have a generator, but it is very expensive to run and we are aware of the cost.

Finally normal service was restored – except to our internet.  It went down just before one of our live broadcasts, so goodbye to that.  What a day, and most of them are like this – as we try to get our work done against huge odds. It’s just as hard for Ghanaians as it is for us. We all need an “overcoming” mentality. So if anyone asks me – “Did you and Mary have a nice holiday?” –  watch out for a frying pan descending on your head!

Mary’s Saturday morning for our youth is going well. Imagine our surprise when mid afternoon our doorbell rang and there were 4 more children. “We want Apostle Mary to teach us” they said! Africa is so hungry for teaching. So goodbye quiet afternoon – but what a joy to find such children.

Sundays are going really well – Mary is usually at Beloved and I am out and about preaching.

We are well.

Blessings
Jim
