Precious joys!

Monday, November 27th 2023

Mary and I have worked in Ghana for nearly 30 years and we know so many people personally. This brings its own little joys. Our school has been doing its end of year exams and desks are in all the corridors. One desk overlooks the car park and I saw Benson sitting there. I crept up and said – “Do your best Bensen.” He smiled and that smile means everything to us. It  means he knows us, likes us and trusts us. Later in the week I was sitting on the prayer floor with Apostle Paul when his youngest daughter  – Nadum – came up the stairs. She was dressed in her school uniform.  She went away without saying anything and returning in her  everyday dress, she walked up to me and gave me the most enormous hug! It’s the little things which make all the difference.

The weather this week has been very changeable. Hot one minute and very heavy rain the next. The power supply has been very erratic. One day we had 11 supply breaks. Fortunately we have a Generator so our internet and our fans keep working. 33C most days, and that is hot! Our live streams, mostly on Facebook (Click here to access) have gone well – especially the ones with Mary and Anita. It’s what we have always wanted – Ghana and the U.K. working together in the Lord’s work. They are back twice in this coming week.

Lots of personal visits and discussions about current and upcoming projects. Lots of contact with home through WhatsApp and Zoom. Our new Facebook page – “Serving Africa Mission-connect” (Click here to access) is going well. We will use it for all current information and keep my Facebook page for live streaming.

11 days to go, and so far a good working mission. Nothing fantastic –  just steady growth. This is what has brought us this far. Lots of hares took off ahead of us but are now no more. The tortoise of the Serving Africa Mission is plodding along, and we are getting there. In Missionary work its best to be a steady Eddy rather than a Flash Gordon!

Blessings

We have some new brochures – one shares our vision for the football stadium and another linked to our school called “A teacher is for life.” If anyone wants any, drop me an e mail (Click here) with name and address. Post is free, thanks to a kind donation. Let me know how many you would like.
