Tuesday. Mary wakes up with a pain in her chest. So it’s a frantic drive to Holy Trinity Hospital Kaneshie. Blasting our horn the traffic parts in front of us. When we turn up at the hospital a nurse comes out immediately to take Mary in a wheelchair for a consultation. Then it’s upstairs to a private room in this beautiful Christian hospital. The staff are lovely and as we wait for test results we sit in this lovely room looking out over Accra. There are waving plantain, palm and cocoa palm trees. The sky is African blue. Eventually we are given the all clear and I asked Mary how she felt. She replied – ”Lovely!”
Working full time in Ghana means sometimes we have to go to the hospitals. Holy Trinity was God’s provision for us – an Oasis in the middle of a hectic city.
This mission has come to an end and I believe it has been a very business-like time. Nothing spectacular but in Christian work the spectacular seldom achieves much. It’s a steady slog which builds the Kingdom. Mary’s work with the children has brought our Ark Church back to life and her Sunday preaching and leading of the Beloved church have been a huge blessing.
I’ve been preaching in churches nearby which strengthens our position in the valley. Sixteen hours of live streaming have been very effective and we only lost two – one of those due to our visit to the hospital. Live stream is our second mission and makes the work much more effective.
We are returning home on today to pick up our English work of which there is a great amount. We live in two worlds with two families and two home churches. We are blessed.
The starting of “Serving Africa Mission – Connect” on Facebook will prove a very useful development. It is an instant insight into our work. Our other Facebook site will remain our live stream centre (Michael J Smith).
There will be a full live stream programme during Christmas week. Most churches seem to shut down, but we do not! I will publish the schedule nearer the time. The Beacon family are running the “Remembering Tree” this year. David will publish details soon.
So on we go
Blessings.

Glad you’re home safe and sound. Looking forward to the livestreams this week. The link to the video of the children playing didn’t work for me. Hope it can be put right. Thank you for all you do. X
