Siting in my office I heard the gate to our compound slide open. Kwesi was back from his taxi driving. He drove in to park and before he could get out of the car two of our tiniest pupils, dressed in their little aprons rushed over and began to try and shut the heavy gate. For all their little effort it hardly moved. Kwesi came back and with their “help” slammed it shut. They ran away giggling!
Our whole school seems to be full of giggling. We teach the children that the beloved school is a happy school. For some of them there is not much happiness in their lives, so we try to make sure it is here.
Our new gate staff might not have been able to shut the gate, but they certainly knew how to giggle. Happy school!
