Jim reminded us today of how over thirty years ago he first preached on the base with Apostle Paul holding plantain leaves over him because it was raining! Now we have a substantial site with many beautiful buildings and a tally of 330 children on the roll. We have come a long way, but there is always more to do and there is a pressing need to have our boarding facility up and running.

Early in the new year a number of children are sitting important exams which take them on to the next stage of their higher education. A number of them live far and the ideal would be to be able to house them on the base during the time of the exams, to avoid the stress of difficult travel and to ensure as much as possible that they are given the best chance to do well.

We need to equip the rooms with beds and there is some other security that needs upgrading. We don’t have the resources. £1000 would put in place some basics for this coming exam period, and £6-7000 would enable the boarding to be fully equipped.

The Mission always turns to prayers first and foremost, and the Lord has responded by enabling all that exists on the base today. Resources are getting harder to come by and donations are dwindling, so the call is – Please pray! Pray that the Lord will enable the release of these resources and that the Mission will be able to continue to support the children that we are responsible for.

Let’s see what the Lord can do!
